In October 2017, Journal of Cryptologic Research was successively passed the evaluation and selection of Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD), and officially indexed into the database, became one of the source journals for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations, or commonly known as Chinese scientific and technical nuclear journals.

Earlier in 2015, Journal of Cryptologic Research was indexed by Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) as core journal. Now the journal is indexed by two most competitive Chinese scientific and technical journal databases, demonstrating that the journal is well recognized in the community.
